When does Beacon Festival 2023 take place?
This year, we’re running across 2 days. Saturday 18th March & Sunday 19th of March. Opening times as follows:
Saturday 18 March
Gates Open, Music Start: 14:00
Finish, Music Off: 00:00
Sunday 19 March
Gates Open, Music Start: 14:00
Finish, Music Off: 23:00
How can I get to Beacon Festival 2023?
Beacon Festival is held at Queens Wharf in Central Auckland. This is a busy part of downtown with ongoing roadworks, so here are the easiest ways to get there:
Uber/ Taxi – Ubering to the venue is an easy option and there will be a Taxi and Uber drop-off area right outside the venue entrance.
Train – The Britomart train station is a short 2 min walk away from Queens Wharf, being serviced by the East and West train lines.
Ferry – Take the ferry and get off at the downtown ferry terminal. This is literally boat-to-door service.
Bus – There are multiple bus routes that stop downtown within a few minute walks to Queens Wharf, download the AT Transport app to plan your trip.
Driving + Parking – If you’re the designated driver then the nearest parking buildings are the Downtown Carpark at 31 Customs St W or the Britomart Car Park at 88 Quay Street.
Water?
There will be free water available from various water stations around the site, and you can bring an empty reusable water bottle in with you. Pace yourselves, hydrate regularly.
Accessibility?
The site is fully wheelchair accessible and has numerous accessible toilets. If you require assistance, please reach out to info@beaconfestival.co.nz and we will help make your day as smooth as possible.
As we are hovering right above the Hauraki Gulf it’s vital nothing blows into the ocean, so please dispose any waste in the bins at all times.
Beacon Festival is a plastic free festival, and we ask you not to bring in any plastics. If you need to, make sure it’s disposed in the correct bin.
There are bins for compost, recycling and landfill throughout the site. Note all foodware, cups and water bottles sold on site are fully compostable.

Full Conditions of Entry
Kia ora,
Welcome to Beacon Festival. Together with Auckland Live we are committed to providing a enjoyable and safe experience for everyone at Beacon Festival 2023. Part of that is keeping yourself together, so you can enjoy the whole event.
This means there will be zero tolerance for intoxication. Those who arrive intoxicated or under the influence of illegal substances at the festival entrance will be refused entry. Those patrons will be asked to leave and no ticket refund will be given.
SEARCH ON ENTRY
You and/or your possessions may be subject to a security/ wanding search upon entry. For clarity, the following items will be prohibited so please leave them at home:
(Empty) water bottles are permitted, once inside you can fill them up at a water station
COAT CHECK
Coat check will be available for you to check in items that you cannot take into the venue.
R18
Please note this in an R18 event so you will need a valid form of identification on arrival. Please have it ready for inspection by staff.
Forms of valid identification are a valid passport, NZ drivers license, NZ 18+ Hanz card or Kiwi Access card. However pictures of these forms of identification are not accepted as they can be manipulated.
NO PASS OUTS
Please note there will be no pass outs, once you’re in, you’re in.
CAPACITY LIMITATION
Note as this is a multi stage event, we may need to limit capacity of certain areas / stages at times to avoid congestion. We thank you for understanding.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Beacon Festival is an open, inclusive festival for those who want to have a good time. There is no place for verbal, physical or sexual harassment of any kind. This includes all acts of intimidation, misogyny, racism, discrimination, homophobia, transphobia and harassment of any kind.
To be clear if you touch somebody without their consent or make somebody feel uncomfortable while at our event, this will be deemed harassment and we will not accept it. No exceptions.
If someone is making you feel uncomfortable, please make any of our staff aware so we can take appropriate action. There is also a designated space near the festival entry where professional staff are ready to assist with whatever you may need.
Please be mindful of personal space. We want you to be able to let go on our dance-floor, but not at the expense of others.
Lastly if you are feeling unwell, please stay home.
