BBYFACEKILLA transcends the local trappings of scene and genre. They do so by providing a local perspective on something that is often forgotten about in club culture – that dance music was created by queer people of colour. Their sets for the FILTH and Reform@ club nights and their System of a Brown and Hunting Ground radio shows have helped to consolidate a new scene in Tāmaki Makaurau that is diverse, aware, and ready to get raw.
