Jazzie B (OBE) is one of soundsystem culture’s biggest stars. After cutting his teeth with family-run reggae systems, he got hooked on soul and funk and created Soul II Soul—a uniquely British soundsystem without musical boundaries. Their 1989 debut was audaciously titled Club Classics Vol.1 – a move that decades later seems on point, as it is a record that helped to create the sound of modern British dance music. He has since forged a path as one of the most in demand soul and funk DJs on the circuit. We are so stoked to welcome the original Funki Dread to the waterfront.
