Keepsakes is a techno weapon. The British-New Zealander has amassed a vast discography of hard-edged yet playful releases on a hit-list of labels, including South London Analogue Material, Perc Trax, MORD, and Mindcut. In 2015 he co-founded Haven, an Auckland club night that introduced the harder side of techno to a city completely devoid of this music. His relocation to Berlin in 2018 saw Haven morph into a vinyl-focused record label, which has released many leading international artists including VTSS, Tommy Holohan, Peder Mannerfelt, Ayarcana, Ansome, and Ryan James Ford. Now based in Ōtautahi, James is ready to share his formidable vinyl DJ sets with Aotearoa once more.
