Eddie Chacon & John Carroll Kirby LIVE (US)

Eddie Chacon is a lifelong creative vagabond. He formed a band at age 12 with Cliff Burton and Mike Bordin (later of Metallica and Faith No More), worked on 2 Live Crew’s infamous As Nasty As They Wanna Be, rose to the mainstream as one half of Charles & Eddie, and climbed the charts with the gargantuan “Would I Lie To You?”. Soon after reaching the pinnacle, Eddie walked away from it all.

Two years ago, Eddie emerged from the early-pandemic fog with his first album in three decades – Pleasure, Joy, and Happiness. It is a record full of dry heat, frictionless vocals, and textured synths, produced by John Carroll Kirby. As well as producing his own stunning records, Solange, Dev Hynes (Blood Orange), Frank Ocean, Connan Mockasin, and even Harry Styles have also turned to Kirby in search of a kaleidoscopic and timeless sound. We’re honoured to welcome Eddie and John to Aotearoa, a mere fortnight before the release of their new album Sundown. This will be a performance to remember.
